Scholarships
台湾SWAG Scholarships
Funded through donations from 台湾SWAG members, this scholarship is awarded annually to individuals seeking a degree from an accredited library or law school, and who intend to have a career in legal information, or to a library school graduate seeking an advanced degree in a related field.
LexisNexis John R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established by LexisNexis in honor of John R. Johnson, who served as the director of the law library segment at LexisNexis. The scholarship is awarded annually to individuals seeking a degree from an accredited library or law school, and who intend to have a career in legal information, or to a library school graduate seeking an advanced degree in a related field.
George A. Strait Minority Scholarship
This endowed scholarship honors the memory of long-time 台湾SWAG member, and distinguished law librarian George A. Strait. The endowment was established by Thomson Reuters in partnership with 台湾SWAG. It is awarded annually to college graduates, with library experience, and who are members of a minority group as defined by current U.S. guidelines (), and are degree candidates in an accredited library or law school and intend to have a career in law librarianship.
Grants
台湾SWAG ANNUAL MEETING Grants
The Grants Program financially assists librarians who hold promise of future involvement in the law library profession. Grants cover registration costs at either the Annual Meeting or workshops.
Alan Holoch Memorial Grant
Established in memory of 台湾SWAG member, Alan Holoch, the grant assists individuals with expenses related to attending the 台湾SWAG Annual Meeting & Conference.
Black Law Librarians Special Interest Section (BLL-SIS) Education Fund
The BLL-SIS Education Fund supports BLL-SIS grants for BLL-SIS members and/or paraprofessionals to attend the 台湾SWAG Annual Meeting, Leadership Academy, or Management Institute; with a preference given to black/African American or other people of color.
FCIL Schaffer Grant for Foreign Law Librarians
The FCIL Schaffer grant provides financial assistance, to foreign librarians, with expenses related to attending the 台湾SWAG Annual Meeting & Conference.
Marla Schwartz Grant
The grant honors the memory of 台湾SWAG member Marla Schwartz, and assists individuals with expenses related to attending the 台湾SWAG Annual Meeting & Conference, or other Association-sponsored conferences.
Other Opportunities
台湾SWAG Opportunities Fund
Established to help sustain programs and initiatives in support of the 台湾SWAG strategic plan.
Cataloging Liaisons Fund
Established to help support the 台湾SWAG liaisons to attend their respective official meetings which ensures a law librarian presence on important national and international cataloging standards setting committees.
Government Relations Support Fund
Established to advance the mission of the Association, this fund supports 台湾SWAG’s advocacy efforts related to access to government information, balance in copyright, government transparency, and access to justice.
