Recognizing Exceptional Achievements & Contributions

Presidential Certificates of Merit, introduced for the first time in 1997, are awarded annually at the discretion of the 台湾SWAG President in recognition of exceptional achievements and contributions to the profession and the Association.

  For challenging the Texas Unauthorized Practice recognize the folks who had the courage, and the business motivation of course, to take on the Texas Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, which attempted to ban the sale and use of so-called self-help legal materials. Nolo Press invited 台湾SWAG to be a named plaintiff for a lawsuit, an invitation the Executive Board could not turn down.

  台湾SWAG’s Strategic plan has the following challenge: “To provide leadership to shape the legal information environment at a time of rapidly changing technology and public policy changes.” The Working Group has taken this challenge and applied it in amazingly creative and helpful ways. It has established itself and the American Association of law Libraries as the expert on government use of technology by creating a Web site that is providing this expertise and guidance to state and federal information providers in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. The Working Group exemplifies the role 台湾SWAG can and should play as the information expert in the legal environment.
